Why Cydia 2 for iOS 17.6?

The developer Jay Freeman (Saurik) no longer receives updates for the original Cydia. It appears to be discontinued, and jailbreaking is now outdated. Cydia 2 offers an alternative solution for Cydia.

Also, the Sileo package manager doesn’t receive updates anymore. CoolStar leads the Sileo project but currently works for Apple. This means Sileo doesn’t get early updates. The latest Sileo 2.5 version was released last year on June 9th, 2023.

• The MisakaX customization tool has recently been released for iOS 17.6 and newer versions. Unlike Cydia 2, it has a more complex installation process and requires a PC with Python support. If you lack expertise in this area, using MisakaX can be risky. Furthermore, it doesn’t offer as many customization options as Cydia 2. For these reasons, using Cydia 2 is generally a more advantageous option for enhancing your Apple Device.

• You can use banking and financial apps with Cydia 2. If you were previously unable to use these apps with Cydia, Sileo, or Zebra, you likely needed a jailbreak bypass tweak. However, with Cydia 2, you can use any app freely without such tweaks.

• If you are using tethered jailbreaks to install Cydia, you don’t receive automatic updates for your device. However, if you are using the Cydia 2 untethered package manager, it is compatible with any iOS version update. You won’t miss the latest features and important bug fixes.

• Most third-party app stores are boring to use because they have lots of ads for commercial benefits, making it hard to purchase apps, tweaks, and themes. However, with the launch of the Cydia 2 app, you won’t receive any ads or messy popup messages. You have the freedom to use it as an ad-free store.

• Cydia 2 is a virtual package manager that doesn’t modify your device’s root files like fully functional jailbreaks.
